    Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

    The Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation course will provide you with the knowledge and skills required to administer resuscitation. Resuscitation refers to the actions taken to keep a casualty alive after their breathing and heartbeat has stopped.
    A Statement of Attainment from Royal Life Saving will be issued upon successful completion in the following units:

    First Aid

    The First Aid course will provide you with the knowledge and skills required to administer First Aid to a victim of illness or injury until the arrival of professional medical help. First Aid requires participants to complete a workbook (or online activities) prior to the course commencement. The course outlines the important aspects of first aid (including resuscitation) and involves practical applications and assessments as well as a theory exam.

    A Statement of Attainment from Royal Life Saving will be issued upon successful completion in the following units:

    • HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

    • HLTAID010 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support

    • HLTAID011 Provide First Aid

    First Aid in an Education & Care Setting

    The First Aid in an Education & Care Setting course, which includes unit of competence HLTAID004, is suitable to educators and support staff working within an education and care setting. This unit of competency may contribute towards approved first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis training under the Education and Care Services National Law, and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011). Specific licensing requirements, including requirements for refresher training, should be obtained from the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) and/or relevant state/territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory Authority.
    A Statement of Attainment from Royal Life Saving will be issued upon successful completion in the following units:

    • HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

    • HLTAID010 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support

    • HLTAID011 Provide First Aid

    • HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting

    Advanced Resuscitation

    This course deals with the provision of advanced resuscitation techniques, life support, and management of casualty(s) until the arrival of medical or other assistance, and provision of support to other providers. This course includes Oxygen provider and use of equipment, as well as AED's used with other equipment.

    A Statement of Attainment from Royal Life Saving will be issued upon successful completion in the following units:

    • HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

    • HLTAID015 Provide Advanced Resuscitation

    Oxygen Resuscitation
