Resuscitation Courses

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

The Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation course provides the minimum requirement for those persons required to perform resuscitation. The course aims to establish competence in the required knowledge and skills, judgement and physical abilities for the application of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.


Advanced Resuscitation

The Advanced Resuscitation course provides the minimum requirement for those wishing
to provide use of oxygen equipment. The course aims to establish competence in the required knowledge and skills for public safety workers who attend incidents where the use of oxygen in either lifesaving or on-going management of a casualty is appropriate.


Oxygen Resuscitation

(Provide oxygen resuscitation
and therapy in an aquatic environment)

The Oxygen Resuscitation course provides the minimum requirement for those wishing to provide use of oxygen equipment. The course aims to establish competence in the required knowledge and skills for public safety workers who attend incidents where the use of oxygen in either lifesaving or on-going management of a casualty is appropriate.

First Aid Courses

The First Aid course provides the skills and knowledge to provide a first aid response to a casualty. The unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations,
include community and workplace settings. The course aims to establish competence in the required skills and knowledge, judgement and physical abilities required to provide a first aid response to a casualty.


Provide First Aid in an Education & Care Setting

The Emergency First Aid Response in an Education and Care Setting course will provide you with skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants, children and adults. The unit applies to educators and care settings who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies.


Provide Advanced First Aid

The Advanced First Aid course provides the skills and knowledge to manage incidents and other first aiders, whilst providing advanced first aid to a casualty. The unit applies to all workers or individuals who may be required to
provide an advanced first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.


Manage First Aid Services & Resources

This course describes the skills and knowledge required to establish, maintain and facilitate the provision of appropriate first aid in the workplace. The unit applies to workers in nominated occupational first aid or management roles.


The First Aid course provides the skills and knowledge to provide a first aid response to a casualty. The unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations,
include community and workplace settings. The course aims to establish competence in the required skills and knowledge, judgement and physical abilities required to provide a first aid response to a casualty.


The Remote First Aid course is designed to equip participants with essential skills and knowledge to provide life-saving first aid in remote and challenging environments where medical assistance may be delayed or limited. This comprehensive training program focuses on preparing individuals to effectively respond to emergencies and injuries in remote locations, such as wilderness areas, back country settings, or locations with limited access to medical facilities.

Bronze Medallion Awards

The Bronze Medallion Award provides the minimum requirements for those persons wishing to provide supervision and integrated rescue responses in an aquatic environment. The course aims to develop the level of knowledge, judgement, technique and physical ability required to carry out safe water rescues.


Bronze Medallion Package (inc First Aid)

The Bronze Medallion Package combines two courses into one. These courses are the Bronze Medallion Award and First Aid. The course aims to develop the level of knowledge, judgement, technique and physical ability required to carry out safe water rescues and provide a first aid response to a casualty.


Teachers Bronze Medallion

The Royal Life Saving Training Teachers Bronze Medallion Award provides the minimum requirements for
those persons wishing to provide supervision and integrated rescue responses in a school setting.

Pool Lifeguard Award and Annual Update

Pool Lifeguard Award

Note: You will need to provide a valid First Aid Certificate to complete this course.

The Pool Lifeguard course provides the minimum requirements for those persons wishing to provide supervision and integrated rescue responses in an aquatic environment. The course aims to establish competence in the required knowledge and skills, judgement and physical abilities for the supervision of people in swimming pools.

Annual Update for Pool Lifeguards

The Pool Lifeguard Re-accreditation course is for participants that hold a current Pool Lifeguard Award, and are renewing within one year of expiry.

The Swim Teacher Course provides the minimum requirements for those seeking employment as learn to swim instructors.


Swimming and Water Safety Teacher Extension: Infant and Toddler

This course is an extension course for Swim Teachers looking to gain specialist knowledge in teaching
infants and toddlers in the pool.


Swimming and Water Safety Teacher Extension: People with a Disability

This course is an extension course for Swim Teachers looking to gain specialist knowledge in teaching people with a disability in the pool.

Aquatic Technical Operator

Aquatic Technical Operator

(Pool Plant Operations)

The Pool Plant Operations course provides the minimum qualification for persons operating public pool plants. The course aims to establish competence in the provision of water quality at public pools.


CPP41319 – Certificate IV in Swimming Pool and Spa Service

This qualification provides swimming pool and spa technicians with the skills and knowledge required to treat water quality problems as well as service and repair the key components of commercial and public swimming pools. Whilst there are no formal pre-requisites for this qualification, this course is contextualised for those who already work in an aquatic facility and are responsible for managing and repairing commercial swimming pools.
