Migrant Learn to Swim and Beach Safe Program

HERO IN THE MAKING ON SUNSHINE COAST BEACH 👏👏👏

When Hop came to her beach safety lesson at Bulcock Beach, she didn’t think Sophie, her 10-year-old daughter, would listen in, pick up the skills, and then complete an actual beach rescue with her paddleboard… on the same day. But Sophie did!

This is exactly why the Migrant Learn to Swim and Beach Safe program was started three years ago. A total of 270 migrants have participated in this program, held in partnership with Sunshine Coast Council. Through pool and beach sessions, many migrants have gained the skills, knowledge and confidence to navigate the beautiful waters of our Sunshine Coast.
